The Location

The Luxor was generous.

Four nights, eight scenes, a suite on the 22nd floor with a view of the strip that we probably used better than most guests do. The pyramid shape means every room is on the outside wall — nothing faces inward, nothing wasted. Floor-to-ceiling glass with the strip below. We kept the blinds open.

"First one out of the gate. We didn't know what we were building yet — we just knew it had to be somewhere that felt like a statement."

Las Vegas is a strange place to shoot — everything is designed to be looked at, which means the eye adjusts fast and stops seeing. We wanted the work to cut through that. Post-New Year's, the city was still buzzing but the crowds had thinned. We had the pool deck mostly to ourselves before noon. The suite held up. The lighting rig we brought held up better.

The Work

Eight scenes. No wasted frames.

We storyboarded three setups and shot five more we hadn't planned. That's usually the sign of a good location — the room gives you things. The suite gave us the window, the hallway, the bathroom tile, and one moment near the end of day two where the light came through the glass at the exact right angle and we got something we didn't expect.

The team moved fast. Call times were early, wraps were clean. By night four we had more footage than we knew what to do with — a good problem. Post is ongoing.

Looking Back

The Circuit started here.

No. 001 was the proof of concept. A real location, a real crew, real work. Nothing about it was tentative. We showed up to The Luxor the same way we'll show up to every location that follows — prepared, intentional, and ready to get something on camera that didn't exist before we walked through the door.

The desert is next.
